Actually, be the person who other people like to have around.
This such a big topic. It calls on all sorts of skills, attitudes and behaviours.
These attributes are vital elements in your career. It’s said that I/Q gets you the job, while E/Q is what gets you promoted.
My course works through all those topics that you will run across or have to know about and perform as you move steadily up your ladder.
Here is what you will learn on the course:
- I.Q/E.Q. – what it is and why it matters,
- Developing social (read: mixing) confidence,
- How we see others – what we notice and how we react,
- How others see you – self awareness,
- Assertive, aggressive and submissive behaviours,
- A useful conflict resolution technique,
- Using your voice – what you say and how you say it,
- Watching your body language (HINT: eye contact is key),
- Listening so that you really listen,
- Asking questions,
- Starting, maintaining and ending a conversation,
- Good manners . . . what matters today?
- How to remember names,
- Making an impromptu speech with only 90 seconds’ notice (and handling it well), and
- Much more.
Among my offerings, this course is unique. As above, it’s a highly interactive one day affair. Depending on your needs, it can be cut to two hours or expanded to two days.
I’ve run it as a one-on-one session for a mining company MD, a 2 hour lecture for a Victorian university, a 3 hour seminar for a rural community, a 1 day course for a state government department and a 2 day course for a federal government department.
Simply work out what you need and call me.
“Fantastic opportunity to learn/discuss communication skills in relaxed/friendly enviro.”
“If you missed this lecture, it’s a shame. Not your average La Trobe uni lecture – nice change. I was engrossed the whole two hours.”
